UNIVERSITY OF DETROIT MERCY SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY ENGINEERING PREVIEW SUMMER CAMP FOR GIRLS

This summer camp is funded by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers Education Foundation.  The focus of the camp is robotics. It is a five-day residential program for 40 girls grades 9-11.  They will learn about engineering science, manufacturing and robotics. The cost is only $150 if accepted. 2008 YOUNG PEOPLE'S CITIZENSHIP SEMINAR
June 23-27, 2008 @ Northwood University, Midland, Michigan

This is a five-day seminar for juniors and seniors, that provides the participants with a wealth of knowledge about our democratic process and equips them with a working knowledge of local, state and national government. The fee to attend is $250 and your local Farm Bureau is willing to sponsor interested students. WAYNE STATE UNIVERSITY COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY CAMPS
July 7 - July 24, 2008

WSU's Department of Computer Science is offering several Summer Computer Camps designed to assist middle and high school aged students in learning some of the skills needed to participate in the opportunities that are available if considering a career in Computer and Information Science.

MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY
2008 Media Arts and Sciences Summer Camp

MSU is hosting nine camps, each lasting a week and covering a range of media and technology design topics.  All camps are designed for high school students aged 14 and up, and have supervised overnight stay options in a MSU dormitory.  Five camps are offered the week of July 14-18 and four more the week of July 21-25. Each camp has 5 full days of hands on instruction from 9am - 5pm plus evening activities for those staying over night. Topics include Video Game Design, 3D Graphics, Video/Film, Audio and WEB. LOYOLA UNIVERSITY CHICAGO-PRE COLLEGIATE SUMMER SCHOLARS PROGRAMS

These programs are designed for high school students who have successfully completed their sophomore or junior year.  Summer Scholars earn college credit and live in a residence hall at their Lake Shore Campus or commute to classes.

Three-week program: June 30 - July 18, 2008: Students take one college level course designed for high school students who may choose from subjects including creative writing, environmental biology or law and social justice.

Six -week program: June 30-August 9, 2008: Students take two related college level classes from Loyola's curriculum focusing on a concentrated field or discipline, or enroll in a language immersion program in Italian or Spanish.

THE UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON WOMEN IN ENGINEERING SUMMER CAMP

SAVANNAH COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN'S 2008  SUMMER PROGRAM

This summer, SCAD is offering several unique programs for students, giving them the opportunity to learn more about SCAD's excellent education in the arts.

RISING STAR is a 5 week residential program for advanced students who have completed their junior year of high school and are ready for a pre-college experience. It awards 10 hours of college credit to students and warrants early admission to the college. A minimum 3.0 GPA and portfolio of 10-20 pieces is required.

SCAD SUMMER SEMINARS are 1 week residential summer programs in Atlanta and Savannah designed for students who have completed their freshman, sophomore or junior years of high school.  Students participate in two five-day workshops, receive individualized instruction and engage in social activities on campus and in the surrounding community.

CARNEGIE MELLON SUMMER OF EXPLORATION

High School Honors Program - Designed for academically motivated students who are entering their senior year in the fall of 2008.

General Honors Program - Earn up to 8 Boston University credits by enrolling in two six-week courses of your choice.

Research Internship in Science or Engineering - Participate in ongoing laboratory research under the mentorship of a faculty research scientist.

INDIANA UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA SUMMER HONORS PROGRAM

Two hundred sophomores and juniors will attend the IUP summer program for two weeks.  During these weeks, students will pursue six hours of challenging classes taught by IUP faculty and be exposed to activities that provide first-hand exposure to college life. Workshops designed to assist students in the college selection and application process  are also offered, including mock interviews, college essay writing and finding the best "fit" in a college.
