ObjectiveEnd goal: 5 graphic/picture projects – must be a combo of taken photographs or scanned (.jpg) (can be a picture that need to be restored) or original graphics made by you. Ratio of 2 to 3 or 3 to 2 is acceptable. You cannot have all five projects be photographs.

Percentage Weight of Work

60 – Production Work/Tests  - non book work

Saving Data

All data must be saved to your G: drive.  Do not save to the C: drive.  The computers will be reprogrammed several times during the semester without notice and all work on the C: drive is erased during reprogramming.

FINAL WORK -- ALL WORK HAS TO BE ORGANIZED IN A FOLDER IN YOUR G: DRIVE AND SAVED IN JPEG FORMAT.  In order to save in JPEG format....

In order to use a picture that was changed or create in Photoshop in a website it has to be changed to a .JPG file.  After you have created the photo in Adobe and once it is in its final stage, do the following:

1.  Flatten the Image

            Choose Layer, then Flatten

2.  Next save as a .JPG format

Choose File, Save As, --- change the file type to .JPG from the drop down option under format.  You may keep it the same file name or change it.

The projects MUST be presented in a portfolio format. All beginning photos (unless it is blank canvas) and end photos will be contained on a CD.

If a .jpg

Present picture as it appeared before an revisions/repair

Full explanation of how picture was altered and directions/steps how it was done

Picture in final format

Must present CD with beginning and after photos

If an original piece of work

Assumption will be made that you started with a blank white document

Give full explanation of how you created graphic/effect. This should be done in step format

Present graphic in final form

Each project is worth 16 points according to the rubric below.

You must use class time efficiently and to do Adobe projects. If at any time, I believe you are not going to be able to do this independent study, I will take you off of the projects and you will begin working with the class in step by step directions.

Your work is to be exceptional – no shortcuts allowed. Your work is to be fully explained as to how you created the effect or transformed the picture. You should assume that people reading the explanation have no Adobe knowledge therefore the steps you provide will guide them to mimic your work or affects.
