Tests and Major Projects/Grading:
- After each unit, past AP European Exams and instructor-developed questions concerning the readings will be combined in a unit test. (approx. 30% of grade)
- Quizzes (15%), note taking (10%), and discussion (10%) will constitute 35% of your grade.
- By the end of the first semester a book critique will be due. By the end of April a biography will be due. Shorter papers following Chicago/Turabian and APA will be assigned (20% of grade).
- All Qualified students will be expected to take the National AP Exam in mid-May. This is in lieu of a Final Exam. Any students NOT taking National AP exam will take a Final Exam to receive credit for 2nd semester AP European history. After the May AP exam, a project (15% of grade) negotiated between student and teacher will be assigned. This assessment will be recorded on your transcript/report card as your Final Exam grade.
- Students are invited to attend the many field trips during the year. Ann Arbor, Toledo, and Detroit Institute of Art museums, Cultural Awareness Group field trips to diverse mosques, churches, temples, etc. are some of our experiences. Parents are welcome!!
