Be engaged – This
class has been reworked so that you have as interesting and enjoyable learning
program as possible. You must participate at all times to get the most benefit
out of this system. Results of
participation are often graded or otherwise rewarded, but not all participation
is graded or rewarded. It benefits you
regardless.
You may drink plain
water in this class, nothing else. Eat
nothing, including suckers.
Horseplay is
disrespectful and not allowed. No
shooting baskets into the trash/recycling containers.
The wrong question
will get you the wrong answer. “Can
me and Jenny…?” is not proper English and will not get you the permission you
seek. You never “do good”
on a test, you can only do well. The
best you can hope for is that I ignore such questions.
Cell phones and head
phones or any other devices that are visible or disrupt class in any way
will be confiscated.
Tardy is not
having your notebook open in front of you, your pencil out, and/or not being in
your seat when the bell rings. All three
conditions must be true before you are considered on time. This
class starts immediately as the bell rings.
Positive attitudes
are the only acceptable kind in this class.
Negative attitudes are not welcomed.
They destroy a cooperative, learning environment and detract from what
you and other students are able to get from the class. If your attitude is negative, keep your
comments to yourself. In particular,
“THIS SUCKS” will be considered profanity and treated as such under the school
handbook policy.
Leaving class can only be done with a
pass or signed agenda. You are limited
to FIVE (5) passes per quarter. Only one pass may be used during the first
two weeks. If you stay late to
finish a test (this is discouraged), I will only sign an agenda to excuse you
for your next class. YOU MUST HAVE AN AGENDA IF YOU WANT TO
LEAVE CLASS.
Absent Work
must be made up by the Friday of the school week following the missed
assignment/quiz/test, or a zero “0” grade will be given.
